Ground Probe Aeration

Wormtech's involvement with soil aeration and ground innoculation spans over 5 years.  We have invested heavily in this specialised field and are considered to have one of the most successful soil treatments for armillaria and phytophthora available on the market today.

Successful control of soil-borne fungal infections involves not only treatment of infected vines (see the Vine Sluicing page on this website) but also innoculation of the surrounding soil with beneficial fungi which will successfully compete with and help control the outbreak.

Wormtech NZ was the first company to trial and test organism growth in the soil after direct injection into the ground using compressed air. These trials lasted 9 months and data was analysed by Forest Research.  A clear improvement in soil organism biomass was detected over this period using Wormtech Canopy and DRH trichoderma.  (Note Wormtech Ground has since been developed to replace Wormtech Canopy in these applications.)

As well as horticulture applications Ground Probe Aerators is popular and effective in turf.  Minimal surface damage and the ability to decompact down to 600 mm makes this system ideal for golf courses and sports fields, requiring no repair work after decompaction: users can return to the field as soon as the job is completed.
